Otter Lake Cherry Wheat beer is brewed upon request from Kim, the sister of our co-founder Rick. Actually, it was brewed with Kim - she joined us for the brew day. It’s often a real family affair around the brewery. Otter Lake Cherry Wheat is fermented on real cherry juice and delivered just in time for fall cherry season. And hopefully one last invite to Kim’s cottage on Otter Lake.

What You’ll Love About It

It's all about balance: A pale wheat malt bill hit with a spicy, fruity Bavarian yeast, and ended on sour cherries. And at 5.9%, it's not light on flavour.

How It's Made

A malt bill of Canadian two row barley and malted white wheat gets a touch of stone fruit-forward Mosaic hops before fermenting with a delightfully phenolic Bavarian wheat yeast strain. Once complete, we get it started again with delicious red sour cherry juice, just in time for Ontario's fall cherry season!

Why Is It Called Otter Lake?

Rick's sister - who all but demanded a cherry wheat beer - has a cottage up on Otter Lake, not far from Parry Sound in Ontario.

How To Enjoy It

At 4-7° Celsius while watching the fall colours start to arrive.

Did You Know?

The inspiration for this beer came from Kim's favourite brew: Sam Adams Cherry Wheat, a classic American craft beer worth emulating.
