Our first IPA created by co-founder Rick for his milestone birthday this year, made with all of his favourite hops - and one "never seen in Canada before" - from the first two years of Something in the Water: Galaxy, Citra, Michigan Chinook, CTZ, and Hydra.

What You’ll Love About It

Our palest beer yet acts as a crisp and biscuity canvas to a series of hops that provide a fruit salad of aromas and flavours.

How It's Made

The malt bill begins with Canadian pilsner and wheat to deliver a beer so light in colour it's almost white. Citra and CTZ in the whirlpool provide that classic flavour of pine and citrus before a robust 1.5kg/hL dry hop of Galaxy, Michigan Chinook, and Hydra create a cacophony of fruit flavours.

Why Is It Called Lizzel Falls?

Named after the backyard pond our co-founder, Rick, plays guitar at once a year with the friends that got him into brewing in the first place. The art on the label was created from a variety of images of the yard that, while not a dead ringer, does capture the spirit.

Where Did the Art Come From?

This can, as part of our Reservoir Series of small batch beer alchemy, features art by a Canadian artist. This piece, titled "Lizzel Falls", was created by Ontario's Obadiah Poundage, who uses a blend of photography and AI to create frameable art.

How To Enjoy It

Around a campfire, guitar in hand, at 7-10° Celsius.

Did You Know?

We've been the first brewery in Canada to use quite a few different hops - Bergamot, Emerald Spire, Gemini, and Tonatiuh to name a few. This beer is no different with the hard-to-find, Michigan-grown Hydra hop. Let's just say Rick called in a personal favour and Elk Meadows Hops were happy to oblige.
