This one was a long time coming. A curious collab between our favourite winery and us that began when we showed up at the end of last wine-making season to secure a freezer full of wine grapes that had just recently been used to create Traynor Family Vineyard's delicious wines.

What You’ll Love About It

Other than that beautiful pink colour? Seek each element in every sip: Delicate pilsner and wheat malts for that saltine-meets-rye bread. The white wine character offered up by the Nelson Sauvin hops. And, of course, that beautiful wine note from the grape pomace. It's complex and so interesting.

How It's Made

Here we have a carefully crafted pale ale from pilsner and wheat, hopped for wine notes with Nelson Sauvin and Enigma. Once fermented, we then added grape pomace and let it sit a bit longer. The colour turned vibrant pink, and the beer took on a delicate rosé wine character.

Why Is It Called Troutman?

We loved Traynor's single-named piquette series, so when it came time to give this beer a name, there was only one place we looked: Our mascot, Colonel Troutman.

How To Enjoy It

Start it at 4-7° Celsius, but let it move to 7-12° to truly let the grapes emerge.

Did You Know?

A piquette in the wine world is a low-alc wine created by using the grape pomace, or the grapes after they've been used once already. Hence a Bière Piquette, a new style of grape ale paying homage to the wine world.
