It hits big with notes of espresso and dark chocolate. But as it warms, this velvety smooth British oatmeal stout curiously reveals subtle notes of toasted nuts and tobacco and dried fruit. Bundle yourself against winter's thistly winds with Ships in the Night, a much-loved Stone City classic.

What You’ll Love About It

It's rich, silky soft, and balanced perfectly. The ideal winter sipper while the snow hits the ground outside.

How It's Made

We didn't touch the original recipe, so you're looking at the same 10 malts and four hop additions, a traditional British-style stout featuring two types of oats and wheat.

Why Is It Called Ships in the Night?

Because that's what it was called when Stone City Ales created it, and why mess with a great thing?

How To Enjoy It

By the fire as the snow falls, at 7-10° Celsius.

Did You Know?

Stone City used to release flavoured versions, so for its launch in our taprooms fans were able to try Cinnamon Bun, Black Forest Cake, Red Velvet, and Don't Fear the Reaper: A version with blood orange & Carolina reaper peppers.
