Buck is a curious collab between Toronto's famous Antler Kitchen & Bar and Something in the Water, created with the same celebration of regional ingredients Antler is known for.
What You’ll Love About It
It’s a robustly hoppy pale ale hit with sea buckthorn foraged in the Toronto area - we used the same forager Antler uses in their restaurant. Sea Buckthorn berries are heavy in malic acid, which you'll recognize as the acid that gives apples their tart flavour.
How It's Made
A blend of two row and pilsner base malts is touched up with some wheat and oats for body and flavour, then hopped in the boil and the whirlpool before receiving a 1kg/hL Azacca and Centennial dry hop. 0.5lb/hL of locally foraged sea buckthorn berries were added whole and fermented out, offering up this beer’s unique fruity tartness.
Why Is It Called Buck?
Because of its use of Sea Buckthorn, and the famous Antler logo.
How To Enjoy It
Ideally on a hunting trip with friends, but it'll taste great no matter where you crack one open.
